Don't Mess With Me

I love shooting..even though I'm not the best shot. I mean I've had my lucky times where I've been able to shoot the tab off a pop can. But let's face it, I don't know what the crap I'm doing. For example, Why hasn't any of the guys with me while shooting ever shown me how to properly hold a hand gun? Without instruction, I just pick it up Hollywood style and go at it. And even without all the knowledge, I still do pretty well. Although a gun range experience with McKay was the downfall of my shooting confidence. Not only did I NOT hit the target, I was off by at least a foot. I swear they have trick targets there!

I'm trying to put that experience in the past so let's move on. My sister in law Maurny, or Maurn-dog as we affectionately refer to her, and I went with her hubby (McKay's brother) Marshall to shoot a couple of Marshall's hand guns. This was at our Johnson fam reunion. It was good fun. We were the only ones tough enough, even our 14 year old nephew was scared of shooting the guns. Or maybe that's because he saw me shoot and realized this could turn bad quickly....hmmm.
Anyway, back to the awesome power girl pictures

Marshall standing behind Maurny where he belongs!!!! Just kidding Marsh.
Let's take a closer look at Maurn-dog's technique. Yup it's a winner folks!
Then there's me..."What's that Maurny?How do I look?"
WOA! Gee whiz mister! This gun has a mighty strong kick. Mighty strong. I heard somewhere that maybe it's a good thing for children to think there mom is just a little bit crazy. I'm thinking maybe it's a good thing for bad guys and intruders to think I'm just a little bit crazy too...with a gun in my hands!

To Blog Or Not To Blog...Ok I'll Blog!

It's not easy re-starting a habit after so long of not pursuing said habit. But I plan to be back on track now that our lives are starting to settle in to the school year and such. I was planning on posting ALL our summer pics that I haven't blogged about yet, and just letting all of you feast your eyes upon our awesomeness. But then I remembered that 1. I don't take a lot of pictures, and 2. Those that know us best already know of our awesomeness, and those are all of you who frequent our humble blog. Or not so humble (referring to the "awesomeness" statement! :) Any who, here's just a smidgen of what our summer was like. In no particular order.

We were new-comers to this particular pool in our area, and it's fair to say that it became a hot spot for us this summer. I don't know why I never took my kids before. I guess I pictured it being a lot bigger and scarier considering that I mostly was by myself with 3 kids that don't swim at all or not that well!
This was my favorite part about it. I've had the best tan this year than I have had since before having babies!

Rhyan saying, "YEsssssss!" She does the arm motions backwards. Starting at the bottom and going up, so cute.
Still cute
This cabbage patch bed tent was mine when I was a tyke. I LOVED it and now Rhyan LOVES it!
We've had some crazy rains and summer storms this year. And this particular one left us with some irresistible puddles. Did I take pictures of those? Of course not...I took a picture with Emmie doing her signature "you're hot" move in snow boots! Emmie remains the same and Morgan sneaks in to give bunny ears. Like Morgan can EVEN break Emmie's concentration. No, this is Emmie's world and we're just visiting...
Even as the rain and puddles were dying down, Rhyan still felt it necessary to at least dip her fingers in the pitiful little stream.
Same day, random shot. I had orange toes with white polka dots. I HAD to snap a photo of the awesomeness.
My "aww, schucks!" foot photo. And no summer would be complete without an over priced ice cream bar from the creepy, pedophile type ice cream drivers. Which by the way, this one had Christmas music playing from his loud speaker. Nothing says summer fun like jingle bells!!!
*sidenote: he WAS Mexican, honest mistake I guess! No we didn't adopt a boy. That's Joshua, the famous neighbor boy! I shall return. Maybe not tomorrow. Maybe not the next day, but someday! And you will all be happy to see more of our awesomeness...right, eh?!
