Johnson Family Reunion

Families are a funny thing, aren't they? You love them and miss them when you're away. Then when you're together, you, at times, wonder why you hang out with them. Yet, they are a mirror of everything you love and dislike about yourself. And most of the time you learn more about which parts you want to embrace and which characteristics you would be happy to expell or at least ignore! While the Johnson family isn't my blood connection, life works in mysterious ways, and I find myself in-law connected to some of the most loving, funny, selfish and self-less, talented, regular, extraordinary, down-to-earth, righteous, ornery, giving, and stubborn people I have ever encountered in my life. MAN, I love that family!

All but Matt (2nd oldest son) and his family were in attendance. Oh, and two of the older granddaughters had to work, so they are also not pictured. I don't think anyone really cares about everyone's name, but I'll narrow it down by color. Mom and Dad are front and center in red. Son #1, also known as Mike, and his family are in the front in Orange, 2nd son and fam are not pictured. Mark and his family (minus oldest) are on the right end wearing black, white and hot pink (they took their color assignment to a whole new level). Marty and his family (minus oldest) are on the left wearing black. Marshall and his family are right next to Marty wearing grey. We are wearing purple...I'm pretty sure you can find us! Mitchell and his family are in the front wearing teal-ish blue. And Monte and his family are next to us wearing white! Whew!
updated family pictures are sooooo needed in my house, as most of you know! Poor Rhyan doesn't exist in any of our pictures, but she does look a lot like Emmie, so that counts as something, right? It's like our engagement pictures all over again, except better! WAY better! It's a tradition to have all the boys line up in order. This time they're going youngest to oldest:Monte, Mitch, McKay, Marshall, Marty, Mark, Not here Matt, and Mike The boys are easy to take pictures of. Do they look their best? NO. But the famous Johnson half-smile/squint is all you're gonna get!! Then there's the girls....we can't get our act together! The girls are lined up to match the boys. Normally there's eight, but this time we have seven brides for seven brothers! Tee-Hee! Megan, April, Moi, Maurny,Misty, Molly, Not here Toinette, and Donna At least all our eyes are open. I especially love April's face in this one...yeah, she's on the prowl! "Maybe if we all put our hand on our hip, we will look better!" "Oh come on Mom, just get in the picture!"
She was more worried about her shirt pulling up than us dropping her...silly woman!
Next time Donna and Megan are standing in the middle so they can actually help next time! What a fun time! We have more pictures, but I have to go through those still. These were the good ones! I got to hang out in Idaho for 2 weeks with my girls, I really do have a lot to blog about, but this is a good looking start!
