*Street Fighting*

Rhyan Got in a FIGHT. . .
With the street. . .
The Street WON!!!!

p.s. What you may not be able to see from the picture is the HUGE egg-shaped bruised bulge on her forehead. It was quite pitiful. Just when I think a 7 and 4 year old can watch their little sister. . .this happens! GREAT!

We're Staying. . .

Impromptu shot taken from Kim's phone after I told her the news. . .McKay got a new job and we're staying in Utah!!!
I cannot tell a lie. I was excited for several reasons: We don't have to sell our house in this horrible market, we get awesome health insurance and some pretty spectacular extras with this new company, we get to be around all our dear friends we've made (even McKay made a couple), and we're going to have a more secure future for our family. That's big! I know it will make some of our family and friends in Idaho a little sad. That is really the only draw back! Family and friends mean everything to me and I was looking forward to possibly living closer to them, especially the grandparents! But lucky for us, we have some amazing support from both sides who truly want what is best for us and we are grateful for that. It would make this change far less rewarding if we didn't have them and their support.
So, alas, the majestic mountains, stinky salt lake, wonderful shopping/attractions/events, crappy air quality, crazy drivers, and craft central will still be our home! Thanks for having us!

V-day 2010

This Valentine's Day was sweet and mostly uneventful. I did steal this awesome idea to "heart attack" places in your house. I loved this idea. I decided to use the wall going up our stairs since it is void of any decoration at the moment anyway. I plan on making this a new tradition.
Emmie had to sneak in the picture as I was taking it. . .I'm glad she did. Some of the hearts said:

To: Morgan From:Emmie "Thanks for being nice to me."
To: Emmie From: Dad, "I love it when you giggle and give me big squeezes."
To: Dad From: Mom," I love it when you make me laugh"
To Mom From: dad,"I love it when you give me hot kisses. And I love that you are always, supportive, and happy, and you never complain, and are sexy and so on and so on." I swear I didn't tell him to write that! It gave some of our neighbor kids some red cheeks though when they read it!hee-hee
To:Morgan From:Mom," You are one smart cookie and such a great helper. I love you."
To:Rhyan From:Morgan," I love you because you are the cutes!" ("the cutes" and "the poops" are common phrases in our household to determine what mood the girls are in. For example: "Rhyan is being the poops!")
To:mom From: Emmie," I love you mom. You're the best!" of course I had to help her with that since she doesn't write. :)
To:Dad From:Morgan,"I love you when you're a rockstar!"
On Saturday, McKay and I went out to dinner and then to chaperon a stake dance. . .woo hoo! It actually wasn't bad at all. We had some good chats with other leaders we don't normally get to see. And over all, we only had to split up a few "bear hugging" dancers. So on Sunday, the girls got a bag of goodies from us and McKay told me my surprise will be coming in a few days! After church I wanted to make cupcakes. Half for my family and half for Kim's birthday. These are the ones I decorated. I tried this new recipe for cinnamon/chocolate cupcakes and I thought they were wonderful!! The frosting was also divine. Maybe a little too rich, but still divine.

By the time we had dinner and were ready to frost cupcakes; Morgan was the only one willing to pose in pictures. Lucky for me she dressed up for the occasion in her ballet leotard! Look at her eyes. . .she's wondering why I didn't warn her about how fast the sprinkles come out! Ha.
This was about half way done. I mean srsly, how much crap can you put on it?
A lot! Doesn't Morgan look like a girl version of McKay? It's amazing. Side note:The ones I kept for our family, I made in a heart shaped silicone baking dish. NOT the ones in the dollar section at Target. . .Sabra! :) It could've happened to any of us. It's just funnier when it doesn't happen to us!
I hope everyone had a lovely Valentine's Day. I like to think I let people know how much I care about them all the time, but having a day that is set aside for just that is pretty fun!

Here come the toddler stages. . .(scary music sounds)

Listen up, fellow moms! Remember these days? When our babies were new, cuddly, and smelled fresh?
Let's fast forward a year and a half. This is what we get. . . It's like she's saying,"Oh mom, you wouldn't believe it, but the craziest thing just happened. . "
The explanation. "Okay, I know this looks pretty bad. . .but hear me out." And then, the submission. "I know, you're right. Nail polish. Bad idea. I'll remember that."
Rhyan is more and more fun every day. Then there are these days, and I think back about my sweet easy-going baby that just loved to be held and how wonderful that was.
But, I want to remember the funny things she says and does at this age:
Rhyan's words/translation
"taintoo" /thank you
"bee-lo" /beautiful
"DONE" /she is now finished
"mama" /a call to any motherly figure or whatever she wants to have
"some" /Her nice way of saying, "give me that or I'll scream"
"Iyantdat" /I want that
"pease" /please, with the sweetest voice ever. Only used in extreme distress when "some" or "iyantdat" doesn't work!!
"ginky" /blankie. These are a must have in our household
"gink" /drink
"down" /up or down. Which ever is the opposite of where she is
"dada" /McKay, usually!
"ya-ya-ya-ELMO"/The Elmo theme song
"Emmie"/Emmie; believe it or not
"gomen" /Morgan; although she's only said it a few times. I think she knows it's
not right.
"bye-bye" /let's get outta here!
"honk-shoo" /that's her snoring noise that she does when she puts her hand to her face like she's sleeping. It's my favorite sign that she does.
"muk" /milk. But mostly she still uses the sign for that too. She
rarely says it.
"ka-Ka" /candy. Not spanish poo!
"pay" /play. "Don't even think about trying to get me to eat or sleep!"
This kid learns more words every day. I'm sure I forgot some of them, but those are the ones used the most. Some of her favorite things to do are:
*Cuddle
*Drink milk
*Eat candy
*Sniff blankie
*Watch Elmo
*Play with her sisters, mostly Morgan
*Draw with any utensil on any surface. She's a draw-er!
*Cry. she does this often lately. Her hopes are always dashed!!!!
*Playing pat-a-cake or singing to songs she knows
So even though, Rhyan is growing and becoming cuter and funnier and smarter, I still think of her as my baby. Well, it is not so anymore! Just for the record, I'm always super good about leaving my nail polish out of sight for the younger generation. I forgot that Morgan and Emmie often get "play" nail polish from friends and cousins and grandmas and grandpas that don't have to worry about the mess!!! Let this be a warning to the rest of you. Just because I keep it out of reach doesn't mean the older sisters don't think it's pretty cute to see baby sister making huge messes. And will therefore, oblige when she is screaming for something she wants! Constant vigilance, ladies!
Constant!
