Soccer Star

I'm excited that we found something Morgan likes and is good at. She liked dance okay, and she really did well when they performed at the end of the year, but she was never too sure about doing it again. So then she was wanting to take horse riding lessons, (which she still talks about sometimes), but she was never sure enough for us to fork out the money for it. Maybe that could still be a possibility in a couple of years. Anyway, then she said she wanted to sign up for softball. I think that was because her friend, Joshua was signing up. Well, we ( I) missed those sign-ups, oops! Then I saw the soccer sign-ups and decided I would just sign her up whether she was wanting to or not. Enough of this going back and forth, and missing sign-up periods. I wanted her to DO something. Plus I always thought it was weird that I was never in soccer as a kid, like 99% of people I know. I was a little nervous for how much or if she would like it. As you can see by this first picture, she was pretty excited for her first game. . .even though, it was 35 degrees burrrr!!!!

I was sure that she would be the kid in the middle of the field crying because someone kicked her, or she didn't get her"turn" to kick the ball, or someone took it away. . .I was wrong.

She is really good at staying in the mix, even with the boys and she scored 2 goals her first game! In the right goal too!

Yes, I'd say, our Morgs may have just stumbled into a fitting activity for her. Hopefully, she will stick with it and be a little soccer pro. Or horse-riding is pretty cool too. And I would really like it if she played the piano or the violin, and be a successful humanitarian in the community, and the leading lady of the next local musical. . .anyway, I digress, I just want her to find something that she loves and has some talent in that can be perfected. I gave up on waaay too many music, sports, dancing, drama activities in my life. Lesson learned, and I will try and instill in my children the importance of stick-to-it-iveness!

~EASTER~

Our Easter festivities started on Saturday with a "big" Easter egg hunt at a near by park. Heaven bless whom ever had to put that together, but the event, on the whole, was a bust if you ask me. Morgan's face and lack of eggs in her sad little basket says it all. And it wasn't just us who didn't get very many eggs. In fact Morgan only got two on her own, the other two were from a neighbor kid that was kind enough to share! SAd!!

Oh well, On with the festivities at home with a little bit of egg decorating. . .

. . . And egg eating. Emmie wasn't sad at all that one of eggs busted.

Well Sunday, the blessed event of trying to think of the Savior, be on time, and look extra pretty. . . yeah, right! This was our first attempt to take a good picture of just the girls. We found out, as you can see as well, that Rhyan does NOT care for grass.

That's where mom comes in to save the day!!! Rhyan was a little happier with mommy holding her, but she was so tired (this was done after church, another mistake), so I put her down for a nap immediately following. So, then we never got a picture of Dad with the girls or the whole family. . .oh if only time travel was possible.

While I was putting Rhyan down, Mckay was busy taking pictures of the girls jumping and playing around. I love this picture because Emmie looks like one of those Celtic River Dance dancers.

The next 3 are in sequence. I love the flying hair and Emmie's astonished look that gets increasingly pronounced!

This 3 picture sequence is also pretty amazing. In this first one, Emmie looks like she's holding on the trees while trying to jump over the mountain. . .I taught her that!!

Having a seat on the mountains. . .

Sliding down the mountain. . .
That afternoon we went to Kim and Sam's for a lovely and D-licous Easter dinner. Thanks guys again for having us over. The boys had great fun playing video games. I don't mean any little boys, I'm talking about the husbands! And of course, the kids love playing together and were keeping busy, while Kim and I contemplated going for a walk (the day was beautiful and sunny), but in between our contemplations, we kept eating, making it harder to want to go for a nice vigorous walk. We did end up going with Kate, another good friend, and a couple of our kids. We took a risk not taking all of them, seeing as how our grown boys had tunnel vision on their video games. We risked it anyway, and luckily all was well when we returned!
I hope everyone had a wonderful day with thoughts of the Savior and fun Easter traditions that help us become closer to family and friends.
